Gulf Central Committee for Drug Registration Meets in Salalah

The GCC Central Committee for Drug Registration convened recently its 92nd meeting at Crown Plaza Hotel, Salalah in the presence of Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Mashiki, Director General of Health Services of Dhofar Governorate along with Dr. Hajid bin Mohammed Al-Hajidi, Deputy Director of GCC Health Council.

During the meeting, the Committee reviewed a number of topics including the minutes of the 91st meeting, and the updates mentioned in the Central Drug Registry. It also discussed the system of suspension, withdrawal and cancelation of pharmaceutical substances, as well as the reports of the field visits of the Joint Team of drug manufacturers along with review the drug registration requests provided to the central registration.

Dr. Mohammed al-Rubaiy, Director-General of the Pharmacy & Drug Control and Committee member stated that the work of this Committee is to activate the decisions of the Council of the Health Ministers of the GCC countries. He also pointed out that the main purpose of the Central Registration System is to ensure the safety, effective, high-quality and appropriate cost medication for the patient in the GCC countries.
