Al-Nahda Hospital, represented by Occupational Development & Guidance Section organized today (Sunday) the First National Moving & Handling Patient Workshop at Crown Plaza Hotel in the presence of Dr. Qamra Al-Saririah, Director General of Quality Assurance Center of the Ministry of Health (MOH).
The workshop aimed to enable the participants to develop their skills in moving and handling patients safely and familiarizing them to the procedures that would reduce the risk of injury during moving and handling patients.
Dr. Qamra Al-Saririah pointed out in her speech that maintaining patients and health workers safety, especially during moving patients among wards, operation theaters or ICUs requires skills and recognizing the correct way of moving patients and tools for safety of the staff and reducing risks.
About 120 nurses and physiotherapists from various healthcare institutions across the Sultanate, as well as a number of experts from the UK specialized in moving and handling patients have participated in the workshop.
