WHO Global Meeting Delegates Review Oman Health Services

On the side events of the last day of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Meeting on Non-communicable Diseases and Mental Health, hosted by the Sultanate for several days, number of their Excellencies Health Ministers along with participating delegation visited some of the Sultanate’s health institutions.
The Botswana’s Minister of Health and Wellness H.E. Dr. Lemogang Kwape visited the Royal Hospital where he reviewed the workflow, and learnt about the specialized care services and the hospital’s facilities, in addition to the hospital’s national specialized centers.
Meanwhile, the Montenegrin Minister of Health H.E. Kenan Hrapović along with his Liberian counterpart H.E. Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, and their accompanying delegations visited Al Mawaleh North Health Center.
With the aim of outlining the primary health care services, number of delegates conducted site visits to number of health centers including Al Khuwair North, Hai Al Jamei, Barka, Al Nassem, and Bidbid where they met number of senior officials and identified the health centers facilities and work mechanisms. Moreover, the delegates were informed about patients’ reception and referral process, primary health care system, and efforts exerted in NCDs control.
Their Excellencies and the delegates expressed their admiration on the Sultanate’s health services progress, as well the MOH’s efforts in the way forward developing the primary, secondary, and specialized health services in all part of the country, above the efforts achieved in communicable and non-communicable diseases prevention and control.
