A launching ceremony of the medical devices for Dialysis Center in Bousher, funded by the Oman Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Development Foundation, was held today (Tuesday) under the patronage of H.E. Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, Secretary General for the Ministry of Finance, with the presence of their Excellencies as well a number of Ministry of Health’s senior officials at the Center.
The project, worth an amount of 136000 OR, includes replacing the two exciting water treatment systems for Dialysis with one sophisticated model that meets the modern standards since water quality is an important factor in protecting the health of hemodialysis patients. Hemodialysis patients are particularly vulnerable to contaminants in the water used for dialysis processing. This vulnerability is due to their exposure to extremely large volumes of water for a hemodialysis patient is exposed to 192 L of water, or to 576 L per week, if treated three times weekly.
The project is of significant value for the patients undergoing dialysis in this center along with its benefit in reducing the waiting list.
The LNG Development Foundation initiative stressed its partnership and cooperation with the various government institutions in order to serve the aspects of development in the country, including the health and health services provided to citizens.
