H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health visited today (Monday) the Contact Center of the Ministry of Health (MOH) to view the working system of the Center.
The Minister praised the vital role of the Center in raising awareness on the epidemiological situation of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
In response to the COVID-19 situation, the MOH Contact Center has been activated around the clock and reinforced with a number of MOH staff. As of February 25 till March, 08, the Contact Center has received about 4000 calls.
MOH Contact Center is providing the health education about COVID-19, guiding the cases to which the precautionary measures are applicable to be quarantined at home. In addition, the Center also coordinating between the health institutions and the quarantined persons in case of any symptoms appear for treatment in the nearest health institution.
Furthermore, the Center responding to the inquiries of the travellers wishing to enter the Sultanate about the quarantine procedures and the number of detected cases in the sultanate, as well as the Center is accounting for the cases that being quarantined at home and sending the lists to the concerned authorities for follow-up.
MOH Contact Center also advising the callers about the places, which avoid traveling to in coordinating with the Directorate General of Diseases Surveillance and Control.
