Cooperation Agreement Signed to Establish Muscat Rehabilitation Center phase-2, Amerat

The Ministry of Heath represented by the Directorate General of Health Services in the Governorate of Muscat signed today (Thursday) at the Ministry headquarter a cooperation agreement with Al Jisr Charitable Foundation and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to construct the second phase of the Muscat Rehabilitation Centre in Al Amerat, with an amount of (900,000) OR.

The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Mohammed AL Ajmi, MOH’s Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial and Planning Affairs, PDO External Affairs and Value Creation Director Eng. Abdul-Amir Al Ajmi, and Nouf Abdullah AL Hosni, Board Executive Member at the Foundation.

H.E. Dr. Al Ajmi confirmed the importance of partnership between the government sector and the rest of the other sectors in the Sultanate Oman to serve the public interest, praising the kind initiative of Al Jisr Charitable Foundation and PDO to finance such vital projects.

She added that the signing of the agreement is part of the strategic partnership to achieve the common good of society and advance community services and development projects.

Engineer Abdul Amir Al Ajmi stated, “Supporting the healthcare sector is one of the social investment programme pillars at the company. This project is not limited to providing medical treatment only, but also to provide the necessary rehabilitation support that facilitates the integration of patients back into society after acquiring the required personal and functional skills.

He added that the Company has funded the development of the first phase of the project’s facilities, with a total value of two and a half million Omani Rials. The funding included medical treatment department, outpatient clinics, an emergency department, pharmacy, in addition to the males and females’ internal housing, gym, and a swimming pool.

Board Executive Member at the Foundation pointed out that the second phase of the project encompasses the addition of a number of in-wards for rehabilitation programs for males and the females, swimming pool, multi-purpose hall, in addition to administrative offices and meeting rooms, which would ensure the provision of an integrated service for addiction cases at the center.
