DGPADC Launches Regulation Program of Pharmaceutical Affairs & Drug Registration
9/1/2023The Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Affairs & Drug Control (DGPADC) at the Ministry of Health launched today (Monday) a regulation program for pharmaceutical affairs and drug registration with the participation of a number of directors and heads of departments in the Directorate and a number of pharmacy consultants in the private health sector at the Novotel Airport Hotel.
The two-day program aims to qualify and train the Omani pharmaceutical staff to equip them with the necessary experience and enabling them to join the work in the field of drug Regulatory in the local pharmaceutical manufacturers, as well as providing trainees with the basis of occupational and organizational responsibilities.
During the launching ceremony, Dr. Mohammed bin Hamden AL-Rubaie, DGPADC Director General, pointed out that this first-of-its-kind program in the Sultanate of Oman focuses on the importance of pharmaceutical regulation and the development of Omani staff in the private sector, as well as developing plans, programs and conferences related to this field during this year.
The program discussed many important topics in several pharmaceutical fields such as the regulatory system in the Sultanate of Oman, drug registration, pharmacovigilance, follow-up drugs for post-marketing and monitor adverse effects, pricing and cost determination of drugs, controlled drugs, import and custom clearance, regulations of medical devices, pharmaceutical licensing, and drug safety.
