National Forum of Diagnostic Laboratory Services & Medical Equipment Kicks Off
The Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Quality Assurance Center (DGQAC), the Accreditation and Standards Development Department, in cooperation with the Gulf Accreditation Center organized today (Monday), the National Forum of Diagnostic Laboratory Services and Medical Equipment.
The Forum was attended by H.E. Mutaib Al-Mizani, Director General of the Gulf Accreditation Center and Dr. Qamra Al-Sariri, DGQAC Director General, directors general of health services in the governorates, along with experts from the Gulf Accreditation Center.
The forum aimed to develop the skills and refine the capabilities of the workers inthe health sector, with an overview of the Omani accreditation system and the Gulf accreditation. It also highlighted the role of theGulf Accreditation Center in achieving positive results that serve the multiple aspects of work in the health sectorthat targeted health personnel in diagnostic laboratories, diagnostic imaging services units, devices and medical equipment units in the health sector.
The forum included two workshops targeting participants from all categories working in the diagnostic and central medical laboratories of the government and private sector.
The forum opened with a welcome speech given by Dr. r. Qamra Al-Sariri, DGQAC Director General.
H.E. Mutaib Al-Mizani gave a speech about the services of the Gulf Accreditation Center in granting the accreditation of medical laboratoriesin health institutions.
Moreover, a number of lecturers with extensive expertise in laboratory diagnostics and medical equipment gave a number of awareness lectures about the importance of quality control in the medical laboratory to obtain credibility in laboratory results in order to promote the role of the medical laboratory in developing the health process and maintaining patient safety.
