Health Minister Heads to Geneva
19/5/2023H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal Al-Sabti, Minister of Health, left the country today (Friday) to participate in the Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly meeting at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.
The meeting aims to discuss global health strategies, including the latest issues and developments at the international health level.
On behalf of the middle East member states, H.E. the Minister of Health will deliver a speech on global strategy on infection prevention and control.
Furthermore, the World Health assembly will touch upon the implementation of the Global Health for Peace Initiative to achieve the Global Health Coverage, which submitted by the Sultanate of Oman and Switzerland.
During the meeting, the Sultanate of Oman will share a number of interventions, such as the Global Strategy for Women’s Children’s and Adolescents’ Health, the Political declaration of the third high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, and mental health, strengthening the global architecture for health emergency preparedness, response, and resilience, ending violence against children through health systems strengthening and multispectral approaches, as well as antimicrobial resistance.
