The Higher Institute for Health Specialties (HIHS), represented by the Postgraduate Diploma Program in the Prevention and Infection Control Program academics batch (2022/2023) organized today (Thursday) a workshop on "Patient Safety: Quality of Healthcare and Infection Prevention and Control in the New Millennium" at Muscat Holiday Hotel.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Abdullah bin Salem Al-Qayoudhi, Director of the Department of Prevention and Infection Control at the Ministry of Health and Dr. Manal bint Abdul Majeed Al Zadjali, HIHS Dean along with a number of officials of the Ministry and the Institute.

The workshop gathered 110 health workers in various specialties and governmental and private sectors from health institutions in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The one-day workshop aimed to highlight the practices of health workers in the prevention and management of various diseases especially during the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the lives of the entire world population.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Qayoudi, indicated that the spread of infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance has now become one of the most important problems facing health institutions in the new millennium, which can be controlled by following the instructions and advice recommended by prevention and infection prevention trainees.
