Health Holds Indicators of Human Trafficking Crime Workshop
12/9/2023As part of Sultanate of Oman’s strenuous efforts to combat and control human trafficking and in line with the second edition of the national awareness campaign ‘Insan’, launched by the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT) with various relevant stakeholders, the Ministry of Health (MOH) organized today (Tuesday) in collaboration with the NCCHT a workshop on Human Trafficking Crime Indicators at Intercity Hotel.
The event, which joined number of MOH emergency and primary health care physicians, aimed at informing participants with the seriousness of this crime and its effect on the individual and community.
The workshop highlighted the role of the health sector in recognizing such cases, providing medical support, and referring them to the concerned authorities to offer protection and all required services.
the 2nd edition of ‘Insan’ campaign is a continuation of the success perceived by the two previous campaigns (Ihsan -2017) and (Insan- 2021). The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking is launching such campaigns with the aim of raising awareness on the severity of human trafficking as well affirming the efforts exerted to combat this phenomenon both on official and community levels.
