Sultanate Takes Part in 78th Conference of GCC Health Ministers Council3/2/2015
The Sultanate took part in the 78th Conference of the GCC Health Ministers Council in its 40th session today in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The Sultanate’s delegation led by H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health. The two-day conference discussed several health issues related to combating non-communicable diseases, cancer control, tobacco control, occupational health, polio, expatriate labor and smart card.
Furthermore, the agenda of the conference included a number of technical topics like, standards and regulations of cooperation with the Gulf health associations, the Scientific Forum of Administrative and Financial Affairs in the GCC Health Ministries, e-linking portal between the information centers in the GCC states and executive board, as well as enhancing health information systems.
The conference also discussed the central pharmaceutical registration, unified procurement, pharmaceuticals, oral and dental care supplies, hospital supplies, artificial kidney, medical laboratories supplies, blood transfusion services…etc.
In addition, a Riyadh Document was signed during the conference under the theme: "Measuring Health Systems: The Way to Excellence".
