Health Ministry Organizes 5th Pharmaceutical Care Conference11/2/2015
The Ministry of Health represented by the Directorate General of Medical Supplies organized on Tuesday the 5th Pharmaceutical Care Conference under the theme: “Empowerment & Evolving Pharmacy Practice”, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Taleb Al-Hina’i, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Planning Affairs.
The conference included a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Nusiba bint Habib, Director General of Medical Supplies: “This conference is held in line with the strategy of Ministry of Health to improve the scientific researches, as well as develop and rehabilitate the health competencies”. She also stressed that: “the Ministry has enroll the Pharmaceutical Care Programme within the Health Development Plans since 2001”.
The two-day conference discussed four main aspects; pharmacy leadership, pharmacy education, professional pharmacy practice and medications safety. In addition to a panel discussion on the pharmacy practice and the way to develop it with participation of professors and experts from Sultanate of Oman, UK, Malaysia, KSA and Netherlands.
Over 500 pharmacists, doctors, nurses and pharmacy assistants from different health institutions affiliated to MOH, Public Authority of Civil Defense and Ambulance (PACDA), Royal Oman Police (ROP), Royal Court Affairs, as well Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) has attended this conference.
