1st National Training Workshop on Therapeutic Protocols for the Genetic Blood Disorders Held
5/5/2015The Ministry of Health represented by the Department of Hospital Affairs in the Directorate General of Specialized Medical Care and in collaboration with the National Committee for the Development of Genetic Blood Disorders Services, organized today at the Radisson Blu Hotel the 1st National Training Workshop on Therapeutic Protocols for the Genetic Blood Disorders.
The workshop held with attendance of Dr. Kadhim Jaffer Sulaiman, Director General of Specialized Medical Care, with participation of 44 doctors from different regional hospitals who providing the therapeutic services for the genetic blood disorder’s patients.
It aims at preparing national master trainers to train the healthcare providers in their regions on the therapeutic protocols of genetic blood disorders. In addition to familiarize the doctors on the genetic blood diseases, its complications and how to deal with infected patients.
The workshop includes several lectures on sickle cell and thalassemia presented by consultants and specialists from Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH), Royal Hospital and Al Nahda Hospital.
