To Reviewed Enteral Feeding Policy Applied in Sultanate’s Hospitals
27/5/2015H.E. Dr. Darweesh bin Saif al-Muharbi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health (MOH) for Administrative and Financial Affairs patronized today the opening ceremony of the two-day Enteral Feeding Conference at Muscat Holiday Hotel.
Around 100 doctors, heads of nursing, nutritionists and pharmacists from Ministry of Health’s hospitals, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH), Royal Oman Police Health Services and Armed Forces Hospital were participated in this conference.
The conference aimed at reviewing the enteral feeding policy, as well as its related products which previously prepared by the therapeutic section in the Directorate General of Specialized Medical Care. In addition to recording the hospital’s notes and feedbacks on preparation of the policy, discussing the way of description of materials for patients and displaying some of company’s products.
Dr. Maryam al-Wa’li, Senior Consultant in therapeutic feeding in the Directorate General of Specialized Medical Care pointed out in her speech in the beginning of the conference to the malnutrition, different ways of therapeutic feeding through the mouth, tube or vein. Then she talked about the Sultanate status regarding enteral feeding, latest updates, and available services as well as applied policy in the hospital in the same regard.
The conference was attended by number of MOH directors general and senior officials.
