The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Health Services Department in North Al-Batinah operated last week a new dialysis unit in the Wilayat of Al-Suwiq. This project came to serve patients in the Wilayates of Al-Suwiq and Al-Khaboura, as well as for hemodialysis.

The unit runs with a medical staff according to its needs, with a capacity of 14 beds. The unit also includes pharmacy, laboratory, doctor room, rest rooms for patients, changing rooms for the staff and a small pantry.

Salim Ba’alawi, Director General of Health Services in North al-Batinah stated that the capacity of the unit is up to a 100 patients. It aimed to provide the best services for the patients, as well as reduce the waiting time for patients during the night shifts.

By opening this unit, the Governorate will have four hemodialysis units; one in Shinas for Shinas & Liwa patients, two in Sohar for Sohar & Saham patients.
