MOH Celebrates Graduation of Oman College of Health Sciences Batches
18/1/2023The Ministry of Health ( MOH) celebrated on Wednesday the graduation of (1640) students from the Oman College of Health Sciences, holders of bachelor and diploma in Health Specialization majors of the academic years (2019/2020), (2020/2021), (2021/2022) in the Governorate of Muscat and its branches.
The graduation ceremony, held at Sultan Qaboos University Grand Hall, was under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Nasr bin Amer bin Shuwain Al-Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour, and attended by number of Excellencies and officials of the Ministry, a number of governmental and military authorities, in addition to members of the teaching and administrative staff in educational institutions, parents of graduates, and invitees.
The ceremony included a speech of Dr. Mustafa Fahmi Mohammed, Dean of OCHS, where he stated that these batches have been provided with the wide specialized science and knowledge and the necessary training to keep up abreast with the labor market requirements and society's needs.
He added that the key goal of the College of Health Sciences, with all its various branches, is to ensure the provision of high-quality health education according to international standards. It always seeks to develop its academic services in compliance with the requirements and needs of the labor market by adopting the philosophy of student self-learning for problem-solving and lifelong self-learning according to strategic plans that focus on scientific research and innovation, affirming that this would ensure the graduation of well-qualified and trained staff and guarantee that they can innovate, create, and become leaders in their own fields of specialization.
The Dean then addressed the graduates highlighting the College’s endeavour to enrich their educational journey, keeping them updated in order to benefit the country, community, and particularly their parents, advising to be devoted to their families and to what lies ahead.
Moreover, Dr. Mustafa commended the ceaseless efforts of the faculty to provide the students with the correct information, supervise their training, and develop their confidence to be able to carry out their duties to the fullest.
Meanwhile, he thanked the parents and guardians of the graduating students for their continued support of their children and following them up throughout their study in the College.
Representing the graduates, Mohammed Khamis Al Maktoomi delivered a speech where he recalled at the beginning memories that graduates have been lived at the corridors and classes at the Oman College of Health Sciences, moments full of life and fraternity that would eventually be crowned today with success by obtaining scientific certificates.
The graduates’ speech valued every person who has an impact on the academic lives of the graduates whether from the faculty and family members.
Before the end of the ceremony, the graduates took profession Oath, which affirmed the importance of professional ethics, demonstrating humanitarian values in treating all patients equally.
At the end of the ceremony, the patron of the event distributed the graduation certificates to the graduates, top batches, and best students.
The Oman College of Health Sciences was established by the Royal Decree (18/2018). The College grants bachelor degrees in programs of health sciences (medical imaging, medical laboratories, and physiotherapy), pharmacy, health information management, and nursing.
