The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by the Directorate General of Planning and Studies organized today (Monday) a workshop to prepare the Ninth Five Year-Plan for Health Development (2016 – 2020), under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health at Muscat Holiday Hotel.

The three-day workshop aims to involve the health-related sectors of governorates and partners in the planning process. The expected results between the planners at the central level and the implementers at the governorates level will be adopted initially. Furthermore, the indicators that will measure and evaluate the results will be formulated during this workshop.

H.E. the Minister pointed out in his speech that this workshop is hold to know the basics and directions of the Ninth Five Year-Plan, as well as discuss the expected results of the central directorates and departments. In addition, review the general framework of the monitoring and evaluation system in order to comply with the expected results developed by the central directorates and departments, which we seek to achieve at the end of 2020.    

The workshop was attended by the Ministry’s undersecretaries and over 250 participants from MOH leaders at both central and directorates levels, public sectors, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), The Research Council (TSC), private associations and international organizations.
