The National Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Committee commenced today (Tuesday) its first meeting in 2019 at the main conference hall of the Ministry of Health (MOH).
The meeting chaired by H.E. Dr. Ali bin Talib Al-Hinai, MOH Undersecretary for Planning Affairs and Chairperson of the Committee in the presence of all members of the committee.
The Meeting addressed the World Health Organization (WHO) indicators on non-communicable diseases, which showed that the Sultanate has made great strides in the treatment of non-communicable diseases, especially the diabetes, heart diseases, cancers and chronic respiratory diseases.
In addition, the meeting also touched upon the proposal of conducting the first international conference of non-communicable diseases.
The projects of strategic research of non-communicable diseases along with the operational activities of the non-communicable diseases implementation plan were approved during the meeting.
