The Ministry of Health celebrated today (Wednesday) the graduation of three batches from the Higher Institute of Health Specialties (HIHS) for the academic years 2020, 2021, and 2022 under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mona Salem Al Jardani, Undersecretary of the Vocational Training at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation with a total number of (203) graduates at Sultan Qaboos University.

In her speech, Dr. Manal Al-Zadjali, HIHS Dean, prided the central role of the Institute in qualifying competent healthcare professionals through the provision of a conducive learning environment and high-quality, specialized programs that contribute to the development of research skills and capacity-building and provide solutions for health problems based on evidence-based practices.

Al-Zadjali added that the Higher Institute nurtures and reinforces Omani values and a sense of responsibility and provides positive contributions to community wellbeing and professional needs. This undoubtedly contributes to building and developing a prosperous health future in line with the vision of the Ministry of Health and the Oman Vision 2040.

The HIHS Dean stressed that the Institute is considered the first of its kind, if not the only one, to offer (9) specialized health programs in one organization, and among these programs are: Critical Care in Pediatrics and Neonatology Nursing, Adult Critical Care Nursing, Community Health Nursing Practice, Mental Health Nursing, Emergency Nursing, Health Service Management, Infection Prevention and Control, Nephrology Nursing, and Midwifery. More programs will be added soon.
