Sultanate Participates in WHO Regional Committee Meeting5/10/2015
The Sultanate of Oman participates in the 62nd session of the World Health Organization Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean held in Kuwait during 5th – 8th of October 2015. The Sultanate’s delegation is headed by H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health.
The agenda of this session includes technical discussions in the fields of food safety in the region, social health insurance, regional action plan on Malaria 2016 – 2020, human resources needed for health especially nursing and midwifery in the region, social determinants for health, as well as reviewing the annual report of the regional director 2014 and its attached progress reports.
The Committee will review during its private sessions the achieved progress in implementing the political declaration of the United Nations General Assembly regarding non-communicable diseases prevention and control, Tobacco consumption, International Health Regulation, Ebola, Global Health Security, Corona virus and H1N1.
