The Director General of Information Technology in the Ministry of Health (MOH) won Al-Nisr Al-Arabi Award in Public Administration organized by Tatweej Academy for Excellence Awards in Al-Bustan Rotana Dubai. The honoring ceremony comes to honor the excellent personalities and leaders in various fields of public administration.

Abdullah bin Hamoud al-Raqadi, the Director General of IT won this award due to his ability to formulate and develop the vision, mission and policies, as well as his ability to accomplish and meet the challenges, seize opportunities and overcome the crisis. In addition, facilitating the modern technology services for the Omani citizen and implementing an ambitious projects during managing the Information Technology Directorate in the Ministry of Health. These projects includes; the National Electronic Health Record – NEHR (Al-Shifa System), expansion of Al-Shifa System in the health institutions, the Electronic Medical Library in MOH institutions, MOH Contact Center and its application in smart phones, developing the electronic referral system to cover the appointments, consulting, labs and radiology, Nabd Al-Shifa system, giving lectures at the national, regional and international levels, the electronic health portal and turning 114 services into e-services, the academic system project for the health institutes (Hams) and its application in the smart phones, expatriates system for the fitness centers, births and deaths system linked with the Directorate General of Civil Status (ROP) an Hajj system linked with the Ministry of Endowments & Religious Affairs.   

Al-Raqadi stressed that this award came due to the efforts and cooperation of MOH staff who have proven their high competence and abilities to achieve the goals to upgrade the services of the Ministry of Health. He also thanked and appreciated H.E. Dr. Ahmed al-Saidi, the Minister of Health, the undersecretaries, as well as all the staff especially the IT staff.
