H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health received in his office today Monday the non-communicable diseases (NCDs) program assessment team.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Fikri, WHO Regional Director for Eastern Mediterranean Region along with H.E. Dr. Ali bin Taleb al-Hinai, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health (MOH) for Planning Affairs.
The meeting aimed to get guidance on policy matters related to NCDs and the expected outcomes. It also includes reviewing the NCDs national policy at the national level, as well as sectorial operational plan.
In this regard, the team will conduct a two-day workshop with the MOH specialists reviewing the roles of various sectors in reducing non-communicable diseases and implementing the operational plan, and technical support of the WHO to the national team.
During this visit to the Sultanate, the assessment team will meet the national team from various sectors in order to review the policy and matching it with the WHO guidelines.
