Health Minister Receives Oman Medical Association Board

H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health held talks with members of the Oman Medical Association (OMA)administrative board at his office on the 15th of October.
The meeting reviewed the OMA agenda and achievements that were highlighted in the organization of the last OMA Scientific Conference, as well as the issuing of scientific journal. The OMA was awarded the best Gulf Association at the Social Affairs Ministers Meeting in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was selected for Arab Medical Union Presidency.
The meeting further addressed medical related issues starting from intern doctors where the minister stressed the Ministry’s concerns and ongoing procedures undertaken for their employment. Graduates of the Oman Medical Specialties Board has been addressed and process of renaming their titles is carried out, as well reappointing them according to their specified degrees. Regarding promotion and re-recruitment, the Ministry is proceeding with the plan as per the financial procedures and physical statue.
The meeting in addition elaborated on the conferences and scientific meetings that both sides are seeking to upgrade and strengthen the provided healthcare and its scientific aspect. The medical regulations was also underlined in the meeting where the minister declared that a committee would be soon established for its revision whereby the OMA will be a member.
The meeting emphasized the MOH support for the OMA in the way to achieve the desired goals.
