Muscat Aedes Aegypti Elimination Campaign Extends for Two-Day

The Muscat Campaign for Elimination of Aedes Aegypti Mosquito themed "Your Cooperation…Indicates Your Awareness", which carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in cooperation with the Muscat Municipality and the relevant authorities on January 8, is currently in progress.

The Central Committee of Muscat Campaign for Elimination of Aedes Aegypti Mosquito decided to extend the period of the Campaign, that was to be concluded this Monday, till next Wednesday in order to cover all the intended locations in the Governorate. Therefore, the field teams will start to visit the Wilayats of Mattrah and Muscat as from tomorrow (Monday) to the end of the Campaign.   

It is worth mentioning that the Campaign completed today (Sunday) the field visits to the Wilayat of Bousher, which aims at conduct the insect research on the breeding areas of the Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes, raising the awareness, environmental sanitation, spraying and control in the breeding areas.

Number of doctors, nurses, health educators and supervisors from the Ministry of Health along with field supervisors and spray operators from the Muscat Municipality and the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources are participating in the Campaign. In addition to the participation of volunteers and Walies, members and representatives of Shura and Municipal Councils of Wilayats of Muscat Governorate.

The Campaign, since its launch till now, has received an effective and required response by the citizens and residents, which evidenced the awareness and keenness of the community members.
