Royal Hospital Highlights Safety in PET/ CT scan

The Technical Aspects of safety in PET/ CT Procedures workshop commenced yesterday Sunday at the Molecular Imaging Center of the Royal Hospital.

The five-day workshop is organized by the Nuclear Medicine department in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Number of physicians, nurses, nuclear medicine technicians and medical physics specialists from the Royal Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital are participating in this workshop.

Dr. Naima Al-Buloshi, Head of Nuclear Medicine Department and Molecular Imaging Center pointed out that the workshop highlights the quality and safety system, the deal with the radiation emergencies, the latest uses of Positron Emission Tomography (PET), as well as the use of radioisotope which produced by the nuclear accelerator in the Molecular Imaging Center.
