“From Farm to Plate, Make Food Safe”

Under the theme “ from farm to plate, make food safe”, the ministry of Health represented by Al Azaibah Health Center organized today (Tuesday) at Muscat College a training workshop on the occasion of World Health Day. Approximately 100 health providers of nurses, health educators, nutritionist, medical orderlies, and medical clerks participated in the workshop along with Boshar school students and school activities’ Supervisors.

Dr. Balqees Al Zadjali, director of Boshar Health Services Department pointed in her speech that new threats to food safety are constantly emerging and that changes to the environment and the antimicrobial resistance pose challenges to national food safety systems. Moreover, increases in travel and trade enhance the possibility of spreading contamination internationally.

The workshop program included presentation of several papers, sketch on food safety, and an educational exhibition.
