The directorate General of health services in Dhofar Governorate aims to secure the provision of health services, preventive and curative pharmaceutical and to raise the level of those services. The tasks and functions of public:- based on the above objectives which require the provision of comprehensive health services, integrated and interconnected to the various provinces in the sultanate, the directorates and departments of public health services in the governorates to the tasks and the general terms of reference as follows: 1 - implementation of health policies outlined in the policy framework of the state. 2 - develop operational plans on a regional level into the region, including the analysis of the health situation and identify priority problems and the analysis and identification of service objectives and operational activities to achieve the overall objectives of the ministry in various fields. 3 - the provision of comprehensive health care delivery at all levels and the quality of the region's population (according to the potential available to them) are continuous and systematic and accessible, and developing systems to ensure supervision of implementation and evaluate the results periodically. 4 - to provide and service home visits for health problems that need it such as the handicapped and the elderly who do not have the means to help them to review the health institutions in order to reduce what would the consequences of diseases from which they suffer physically and socially and economically, and will reduce the turn of the bed occupancy rate in those institutions. 5 - develop an integrated system to transmit the illness to complete the diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation or follow-up to the level of province or between the provinces and referral hospitals in muscat governorate, in a manner easy and fast to ensure the performance of treatment services is best, and to achieve the provision of integrated information in the health record of the patient and strengthen the system of feedback. 6 - to encourage the private sector to contribute to the support of health services, and the issuance of licenses for the establishment of private health institutions within the province, and in accordance with the provisions of laws, regulations and resolutions regulating them. 7 - promoting health awareness in the community, and encouraging members to participate in the maintenance of health. 8 - to identify and study the problems of the community health and work to address them in cooperation and coordination with health-related sectors, and the effective participation of the community. 9 - development of programs for continuing education and organize seminars and conferences on health doctors, pharmacists and nursing staff, technicians and other staff to maintain / region to advance their level of scientific and practical. 10 - the implementation of studies and epidemiological field research and those that aim to measure the "knowledge, attitudes, and practices" in the community - the kap surveys - in order to guide the health programs and activities based on scientific data emerging from these studies. 11 - directly to any other powers prescribed to it under the administrative and ministerial decisions. 12- study the health needs of the wilyates according to population density and geographical distance. 13 - strengthening of health services through the provision of human resources and the necessary medical equipment.
