Given the great expansion in the Ministry of Health in terms of the number of healthcare institutions and the number of employees in those institutions, and the number and quality of healthcare services provided by the Ministry of Health it became necessary to establish a unit that takes care of the assessment of healthcare services, related aspects of human resources and material resources, and works on continuous improvement in performance at all levels and in various units of the Ministry. Therefore, the decision of establishing the Directorate General of Quality Assurance Center has been taken to meet the needs of the next phase and outlook of the ambitious strategic plan 2050 of the Ministry. In this regard, the Directorate-General of Quality assurance center is seeking to be a national reference with global level in the field of healthcare quality and patient safety. It works to carry out its message in raising the quality of healthcare services and patient safety in all institutions of the Ministry of health by the application of appropriate international standards to local realities.
