The world is currently witnessing an informational revolution, and electronic communication is becoming the predominant way of communication globally in almost all fields of life such as economics, politics and social. Thus, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, has issued a wise directive for the Sultanate to stay on par with the globe in this field. Inspired by His Majesty's wisdom, a national plan for moving towards a digital and e-government has been established in Oman. The Ministry of Health has embarked, along with other government institutes, on making its services available electronically to its patrons. The Ministry started implementing a range of advanced electronic programs and software in its health institutions, and has expanded the implementation to cover all large-scale projects that are going to be established as a result of the health vision 2050. Currently, the Ministry of health launched its own e-health portal to lay the ground work for the ultimate conversion to the newly implemented electronic system. This will provide a window for all those who are interested, be it staffs or patients, in knowing more about the Ministry's services in treatment, education and training. The e-health portal is characterized by a high degree of logical organization that makes it a user-friendly experience. This also helps in attracting more visitors to the website and for those who which to leave feedback regarding the Ministry's services, to do so easily and swiftly. The most important services offered by the website, are information regarding health services, education and training services, research services based on the latest technology, general services such as e-mail, cloud storage, live dialogue, daily global health news, real-time coverage of the most important events and activities of Ministry among others. The Ministry is proud of this electronic national achievement, which is considered to be a major step in the field of information technology in Oman. We would like to congratulate all those who have contributed to this important project. We hope that implementing this service will significantly contribute to the national plan for moving towards a digital and e-government in Oman / Dr. Ali bin Talib Al Hinai
