South Al Batinah Health Organizes Scientific Symposium on Rare Diseases and Inherited Metabolic Disorders
As part of strengthening cooperation and partnerships among various sectors, the OSGM Al Batinah South Symposium was held under the patronage of Dr. Nasser bin Abdullah Al Shukaili, Director General of Health Services in South Al Batinah. The symposium was organized by the Oman Society of Genetic Medicine in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services in South Al Batinah, represented by the Women and Child Health Department, at Barceló Mussanah Resort.
The symposium aimed to enhance knowledge about rare diseases and inherited metabolic disorders, and to raise awareness about the importance of premarital medical screening and preventive options. The event featured a number of scientific presentations delivered by speakers from tertiary hospitals in Muscat Governorate, with the participation of healthcare professionals from across the governorate.

The Royal Hospital, in collaboration with Khoula Hospital and the Oman Center for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, successfully performed a comprehensive organ donation procedure involving a patient declared brain-dead.
