South Al Batinah Health Conducts Field Visit to Khazaen Economic City to Enhance Health Safety and Implement International Regulations
The Directorate of Disease Surveillance and Prevention at South Al Batinah Health conducted a field visit to Khazaen Economic City to learn about activities related to port and economic city health safety aspects and to follow up on the implementation of the International Health Regulations (IHR).
During the visit, Mr. Nasser Al Shaqsi, Head of the Border Ports and Airports Health Section, delivered a presentation highlighting the role of health services in economic cities and land ports, as well as the importance of enhancing health preparedness and strengthening joint coordination to ensure the implementation of approved health requirements and standards.
The visit also included a meeting with representatives from Khazaen Economic City, Salal, and the land port, where the roles and responsibilities of each entity were reviewed. Discussions were held on ways to enhance cooperation between the Border Ports and Airports Health Section and relevant stakeholders, contributing to strengthening health safety and supporting the operational system at economic entry points.

The Royal Hospital, in collaboration with Khoula Hospital and the Oman Center for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, successfully performed a comprehensive organ donation procedure involving a patient declared brain-dead.
