With the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in the health sector, and advancing the Memorandum of Understanding signed during His Majesty the Sultan’s visit to Algeria on May 5, the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Wassim Quidri, begun an official several-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman, accompanied by an official delegation.
The visit will include discussions on opportunities to enhance strategic partnerships in the health sector and pharmaceutical industries, as well as deliberations on the project to establish a branch of the Saidal pharmaceutical company in the Sultanate of Oman.
As part of the visit’s program, H.E. Wassim Quidri, Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, and his accompanying delegation met today (Sunday) with H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, at his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in Al Khuwair.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged cordial discussions and reviewed matters of mutual interest. They also explored ways to expand the scope of partnership and cooperation between the two countries in the health sector, particularly in the pharmaceutical industries and investment opportunities.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Suliman bin Nasser Al-Hajji, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative & Financial Affairs, senior officials, and members of the delegation accompanying the visiting minister.
An official discussion session was convened, chaired on the Omani side by H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, and on the Algerian side by H.E. Wassim Quidri, Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
The discussion session reviewed ways to further develop cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the health sector and to activate avenues of collaboration that serve their mutual interests. During the session, the Sultanate of Oman highlighted its pioneering experience in managing and developing its healthcare system.
The discussion session also addressed ways to benefit from Oman’s experience in the pharmaceutical industry, strengthen the strategic partnership between the two sides in this field, and explore opportunities for collaboration in cardiac surgery for both Oman and Algeria, as well as other topics aimed at enhancing and developing bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
