As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of the health system and improve its operational effectiveness, the Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Planning, organized today (Tuesday) at the InterCity Hotel, Al Khuwair a consultative workshop to discuss the adoption of a national framework for task distribution and sharing.
The workshop was held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Salim Al Mandhari, MOH’s Undersecretary for Health Planning and Regulation, and attended by Dr. Qasim Al Salmi, Ministry’s Director General of Planning, along with a number of officials and healthcare workers from the Ministry and various health institutions.
The workshop saw participation from several health leaders, specialists, and technical staff from central directorates, Health Directorates General in Muscat and North Al Batinah Governorates, Oman College of Health Sciences, and the Royal, Khoula, Al Nahda, and Suhar hospitals. The event aimed to discuss an integrated national methodology for assigning and distributing tasks among various health cadres, thereby improving the distribution of roles and responsibilities, optimizing the use of human health resources, and enhancing the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
The workshop featured several dialogue sessions and specialized presentations covering the concept of task distribution and sharing, practical experiences and models, as well as the role of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in supporting task distribution efficiency and improving service delivery pathways.
The event further included discussion sessions and interactive working groups focused on identifying opportunities and challenges, discussing proposed criteria for evaluating tasks eligible for distribution or sharing, requirements for empowerment and capacity building, and mechanisms for follow-up and evaluation.
The outcomes of the workshop will contribute to developing a practical and methodical national framework that supports the development of the health workforce and enhances the resilience and sustainability of the health system, in line with the national priorities of Oman Vision 2040 and future development directions.
