The Ministry of Health (MOH) signed today (Wednesday) an agreement with Al Yusr Charity Foundation to finance the purchase of a robotic surgery system for the Directorate General of the Royal Hospital at a cost of OMR 1,500,000 at its headquarters in Al Khuwair.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Health by H.E. Suleiman bin Nasser bin Khamis Al-Hajji, MOH Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and on behalf of Al Yusr Charity Foundation by Omar bin Mohammed Al-Farsi, Director General of the Foundation.
Dr. Amer bin Khamis Al-Araimi, Director General of the Royal Hospital, said that the signing of this agreement represents a significant strategic step in advancing the specialized surgical services at the Royal Hospital and reinforces efforts to adopt advanced medical technologies in line with the best international practices in the field of precision surgery.
Al-Araimi added that supporting the robotic surgery system is not limited to introducing a new technology, but rather establishes a qualitative advancement in the quality of healthcare. This is achieved through improving the precision of surgical interventions, reducing complications, and accelerating patient recovery, which in turn positively reflects on patient experience and safety.
He also noted that this effective partnership with Al Yusr Foundation reflects an advanced model of integration between the public sector and society, contributing to empowering national competencies, expanding the scope of specialized services, and enhancing the readiness of the healthcare system to meet future challenges.
Omar bin Mohammed Al-Farsi, Director General of Al Yusr Charity Foundation, stated that this cooperation is part of the Foundation’s healthcare-related programs, as well as its commitment to institutional social responsibility and the continuation of health initiatives that contribute to improving medical performance and meeting patients’ needs.
Al-Farsi also emphasized the Foundation’s collaboration in this robotic systems project, which will enhance more than six different clinics, thereby improving service accuracy and increasing response efficiency for patients.
The signing of the agreement between the Ministry of Health and Al Yusr Charity Foundation reflects both parties’ belief in the importance of public-private partnerships in developing and advancing the healthcare sector in the Sultanate of Oman. It also stems from Al Yusr Charity Foundation’s commitment, within its community investment programs, to providing support to various segments of society.
