H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al-Sabti, Minister of Health, received today (Sunday) at his office H.E. Sulaiman bin Saleh Al-Dakheel, General Manager of the Gulf Health Council, along with his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Dr. Saeed bin Hareb Al-Lamki, MOH’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs. 
During the talks, Dr. Al-Sabti underscored the importance of joint cooperation among GCC states in key health files, including the unified Gulf procurement, the Expatriate Screening Program “Wafid” program, as well as benefiting from member states’ expertise in strategic drug inventory management and the central registration of pharmaceuticals. 
The meeting reviewed the agenda for the upcoming GCC Health Ministers Council meeting, scheduled to take place next September in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Discussions also addressed collaboration among Disease Prevention and Control centers in the Gulf to ensure optimal response to public health threats.
Following the meeting, the guest and his delegation visited the Central Public Health Laboratory to familiarize themselves with its operations and to further strengthen cooperation with Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Gulf CDC).
