H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal Al Sabti, Minister of Health and member of the Council of Leaders, attended the official meeting of the Council of Champions on Ending Violence Against Children, held on the sidelines of the Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly (WHA79) in Geneva.

The efforts of the Council of Champions are focused on two key humanitarian priorities: advancing children’s health and well-being, and combating Violence Against Children (VAC). The dinner roundtable served as a platform for exchanging views and approaches aimed at accelerating global action across these two critical areas, while strengthening solidarity among participating countries in addressing this shared responsibility.

H.E. the Minister’s participation reflects the Sultanate of Oman’s steadfast commitment to supporting international initiatives with humanitarian and health dimensions, and its active engagement in United Nations platforms addressing child welfare and sustainable development, as an ethical imperative before being a diplomatic one.

This participation further strengthens Oman’s growing presence in international health forums during the current World Health Assembly, reaffirming that the Sultanate of Oman is not merely present but is actively contributing to shaping the global health agenda.
